Roe Valley Country Park
Roe Valley Country Park and visitors centre on the outskirts of Limavady offers some of the most beautiful riverside and woodland scenery in the province. This is more than a country park, it is a living history of Limavady, as it contains the site of the O'Cahan Clan Castle and the spot where the legendary 'Leap of the Dog' gave rise to the name of Limavady. The Green Lane Museum is open on a seasonal basisBanagher Glen National Nature Reserve
The magnificent Banagher Dam and forest can be found three miles from Dungiven. Spectacular and panoramic views can be enjoyed within this beautiful Glen which is a paradise for ornithology. Picnic, parking and toilet facilities are available at the main entrance. 5km to Altnaheglish Reservoir.Dungiven Priory
This Augustinian Priory, now an ancient monument, was founded in 1100AD and contains the finely sculptured tomb of Cooey-na-Gal O'Cahan, a local Chieftain who died in 1385. This funeral monument is unequalled in Ulster and occupied a remarkably picturesque situation on a rock 200ft above the River Roe.Binevenagh Mountain
From the Bishops Road there is vehicular access to the summit (1250ft). Car parking and picnic facilities are located here including a man made lake. The western face rises with bold and precipitous elevation while its other sides ascend gently providing habitat for several rare species of fauna and flora. The whole area is ideal for hill walking and encompasses part of the Ulster Way.Martello Tower
This tower, built in the Napoleonic Wars, with walls over 9ft thick marks the entrance to Lough Foyle. The area is home to the famous Ulster harpist, Denis O'Hampsey. A memorial to this musical genius was erected in 1998 at the O'Hampsey family grave in St. Aidan's Churchyard.Benone Beach & Tourist Complex
Situated on the A2 Coast Road the beach is best known for its clean, firm golden sands free from rock, shingle and seawood. The Complex offers a 9 hole par three golf course, tennis courts, bowling green, putting green and golf practice range. The outdoor heated splash pools open on a seasonal basis are ideal for children with an adventure play area adjacent. This award winning complex provides something for all the family.
